College Success! Coaching

Our College Success! coaching model helps college students improve weak executive functioning skills often associated with ADD/ADHD, bipolar disorder, learning disordersanxiety and mood disorders.

The acronym S-O-L-V-E-R represents six structured steps your student will learn to follow as he or she begins to take control of his or her future.

State the Problem Clearly as you consider how a specific executive skill hampers your academic success.

Organize Your Thoughts by considering how to use your strengths to reduce the cause/effect of your executive skill challenges.

Learn New Ways of Thinking by understanding the role of executive functions, moving past self-blame, and taking responsibility for yourself.

Venture-Out by establishing goals and taking action to address your specific needs.

Evaluate your progress regularly to determine what is working and learn how to fix what’s not working.

Repeat the process to address additional executive skill needs.

Initially,we lead your student through this structured approach to problem solving.  As he or she internalizes the S-O-L-V-E-R structure, we start to turn the process over to your student so that he or she can experience success at solving his or her own challenges.
